Refreshment in Forest Stream – Fish On Shishidome, Yamanashi
Something just doesn't click right in your life. Sometimes, somewhat, so what? That's when I jump on my car, get out of city, and disappear into the wilderness.
On this particular occasion, I chose Fish On Shishidome located in Tsuru, Yamanashi. This stream used to be known in different name in old days, and this is where my dad took me out for the first time to try out trout fishing when I was in elementary school. I caught only few trout with my lure back then, and I remember visitng this place again with my mom later when I had bug problem which caused my leg to bleed and get swollen like basketball. Today, the place still offers the same recreation: trout fishing, but in different magnitude. It's just amazing that one place can keep entertaining the same person for more than 25 years.
You can fish for raibow trout, cherry salmon, and white-spotted char in this stocked stream. The stream is devided into 3 parts, family zone, raibow trout zone, and nature zone which holds cherry salmon and chars. You need a wader to make complete run in nature zone, so this time, I only went where my sneaker could take me. Water of the stream is crystal clear and sight fishing here is pure fun.
This time, I caught plenty of raibow trouts, one raibow ran like steelhead and pulled me into reel fight, and cherry salmons and chars fulfilled my passtime. This char was caught after ignoring 3 runs of parachute adams, 1 run of hare's ear nymph, and the final run of Grifith's gnat.
