Riverspot Hayato – Tanzawa, Kanagawa

2020/11/25fishing park,Fly fishing,Japan,Rainbow trout

This fishing park is located in the mountains north west of Atsugi in the Kanagawa Prefecture.  I have been here and it is a really nice fishing park.  They have two different houses where you check in, but the easternmost and smallest one is for the lure and fly fishing guys.  The other house is for bait fishers.  The facilities there are pretty nice.  There is a nice store in the bait fisher house, with just about anything you would need in an emergency.  In addition, this is where the Liverpool restaurant is located.  The really neat thing I saw at the restaurant is the fact that they will take the fish you catch and prepare it for you to eat on the spot.  I saw cooked and raw trout being eaten the day that I went there.

As for the fishing area, the river basically runs west to east for about a kilometer.  Unfortunately the bait fishing area takes close to two thirds of the river area that Liverpool owns.  This is because at the westernmost end it is a bait fishing area where you rent a square carved out of the river and they stock it for you before you start fishing.  After that area, in the middle of the fishing park, is a fish anywhere you like bait fishing area.  Then at the far east end of the fishing park is the free range lure and fly fishing area.

This area is where I fished the entire day and had a lot of fun.  It was not overly crowded the day we went, but there were still around two people per fishing spot.  So it did get a little crowded, but not bad enough where you could not fish.

Here are three pictures of the fishing park.  Unfortunately, I can’t find the ones that I took.
