John Grant

Hi everyone, My name is John Grant, and I’m thrilled to be in this fly-fishing club!

I started fly-fishing about a year ago, so I’m still very much a novice. That said, I absolutely love the sport and am eager to learn as much as I can. I’m lucky to live near the Sumida and Arakawa Rivers in North Tokyo, close to Oji Station, which is where I practice my casting regularly.

Beyond fly-fishing, I’ve also started exploring jig fishing. I’ve tried shore jigging in Chiba, but I’m still getting the hang of it.

When I’m not fishing, I enjoy DIY projects and woodworking. Recently, I’ve made a couple of dubbing brush tables, which was a fun way to combine my hobbies.

In the future, I hope to catch some carp or bass in my local rivers (Sumida and Arakawa) and try trout fishing. I’m looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing in this wonderful sport together. Thanks for welcoming me!
